Wednesday, Oct. 10: Pet Obesity Awareness Day

Ask your veterinary clinic to sign up for the Pet Obesity Prevention organization's 11th annual National Pet Obesity Awareness Day Survey, which starts today. The goal is "to determine as possible the number of pets in the United States that are overweight or obese." You can also take an anonymous online survey. Saturday, Oct. 13: Glitter Ball

Spend an enchanted evening at this annual cat party enjoying the no-kill, nonprofit group Feline Rescue. The event features a red carpet entrance, photo ops, hors d'oeuvres, a live video feed of adoptable shelters, silent auction, raffles, music and a cash bar. You will also hear a presentation of the cat's behavior and wellness consultant, best-selling author and star of My Cat From Hell, Jackson Galaxy. The event takes place in Twin Cities, Minnesota. Saturday, Oct. 13: Cuddle Me Festival

The San Francisco SPCA presents the Cuddle Me Festival – a special street festival celebrating the organization's 150th anniversary. The daylong event (10 days to 3 weeks) will be full of entertainment, activities and opportunities to hang out with the animals. In keeping with the "Cuddle Me" theme, adorable (and adoptable!) Animals will be available for snuggling inside the Purina Kitten Dome and the Puppy Lounge, as well as activities inside the Cuddle Me Cat Lounge. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 13 and 14: CFA International Cat Show

Find out who's best in the Cat Fanciers' Association's exciting International Cat Show presented by Royal Canin. You'll be captivated by as many as 1,000 cats and up to 41 breeds from the U.S., Europe and Asia all in one location – Cleveland's I-X Center in Ohio. Also check out the agility ring, breeds showcased in the ring and show hall tours. And there will be 30 craftsmen, businesses and organizations. Everything you need to know at cfa.org

Saturday, Oct. 20: Halloween Cat Cats Show and Adoption Event

If you 're in the Phoenix, Arizona area, check out this fun show presented by Superstition Cat Fanciers. You'll meet lots of beautiful purebred cats and kittens, as well as household pets. Show hours are 9 am to 4 pm, and the event takes place at the El Zaribah Shrine Auditorium. Bring a can of cat food, and get $ 1 off admission. Tuesday, Oct. 23: Christmas at the Cat Cafe
